In his presentation, Dieter Roelstraete continues his critical exploration of the Realist Controversy, seen from the vantage point of recent curatorial projects such as Goshka Macuga: Exhibit, A, 2012-2013 and The Way of the Shovel, 2013 – (both organized at MCA Chicago); a plea for present-day realism, in all its compromised guises – from photorealism to social realism – in these surreal times.
Dieteris Roelstraete tęsia savo anksčiau pradėtą „realizmo ginčo“ (The Realist Controversy) kritinį tyrimą, šįkart išeities pozicija pasirinkdamas paskutiniąsias jo paties kuruotas parodas – Goshka Macuga: ekspozicija, A (Goshka Macuga: Exhibit, A, 2012– 2013) ir Kastuvo kelias (The Way of the Shovel, 2013–2014) (abu projektai įgyvendinti Čikagos šiuolaikinio meno muziejuje). Paskaitoje kalbama apie šiems siurealiems laikams būdingą realizmo troškimą visais kompromisiniais jo pavidalais – nuo fotorealizmo iki socialinio realizmo.
